| |
By calling YourCall line, learners and members of staff will be able to report to a trained operator / counselor, any unlawful and wrongful behaviour or activities taking place in their learning environment. Anything that may constitute a threat to their well being such as bullying, intimidation, aggressive behaviour, traumatic experiences, presence of drugs or other dependence inducing and mood altering substances, sexual harassment and violence, and other offences. This reporting may now be revealed in a totally safe and anonymous manner, without fear of victimisation. |
| |
How does the YourCall line work? |
| |
All calls will be initially received by qualified counselors who are specifically trained to take care of all the caller’s needs for well-being, providing guidance and counseling when needed. During the call, an incident report form will be compiled with the particulars of the case. The incident report form will then be filtered to an independent YourCall advisor who will assess the report and classify the contents into a risk logging structure of “High”, “Medium” and “Low” risk. The YourCall advisor will in turn consult with the learning institution concerned in order to discuss the case. The validity of the report will be assessed and the need for further investigation evaluated. Throughout the process, utmost care will be taken to ensure the principles of confidentiality are strictly adhered to in terms of The Protected Disclosures Act. |
